The Son of the House Longlisted for the 2021 Scotiabank Giller Prize

Dundurn Press is thrilled to announce that The Son of the House by Cheluchi Onyemelukwe-Onuobia has been longlisted for the 2021 Scotiabank Giller Prize Award longlist. This is a historic nomination for the Toronto-based independent publishing house. Congratulations, Cheluchi!

Released in Canada in May 2021, The Son of the House tells the stories of two Nigerian women, divided by class and social inequality, whose lives intersect when they're kidnapped, held captive, and forced to await their fate together. The novel has previously won the Best International Fiction Book Award at the 2019 Sharjah International Book Fair and the 2020 SprinNG Women Authors Prize. It is also a finalist for the 2021 Nigeria Prize for Literature 2021.
