New Publisher Announced for Dundurn Press

The Dundurn Press Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Meghan Macdonald will assume the role of Chief Publishing Officer (Publisher) starting February 1, 2024.

“Meghan’s been with us for a number of years and during that time has made effective changes in nearly every facet of our business,” said Jason Martin, board chair. “She’s demonstrated an unfailing excitement about Canadian stories. She will build on our strengths and find new areas  where we can continue to innovate.”

Together with Chief Operating Officer Chris Houston, Meghan will form the Office of the Chief  Executive at Dundurn Press, heading up the executive leadership committee that includes  Associate Publisher Kathryn Lane and Chief Financial Officer Graham Matthews.

Meghan writes: “I am absolutely thrilled to continue working with everyone at Dundurn in this  new capacity. I have benefitted from the support and collegiality of the team here since day one  and my goal is to pay it forward as Publisher, supporting our authors and their works so that  they feel at home here the same way I do.”

Meghan will continue managing the Press’s grants and reporting as well as working closely with the leadership team on strategic planning and innovation. She will also support Chris in Sales and Marketing with communications, infrastructure, and project management.

Meghan and Chris will jointly take over the CEO responsibilities from Kwame Scott Fraser, who  led the organization as President and Publisher since 2019, and who is transitioning to a new  acquisitions-focused role at the end of January.
