October 15, 2018 – Dundurn Press is thrilled to announce that Recipe for Hate, the first book in Warren Kinsella’s punk-and-politics The X Gang series, has been nominated for the Ontario Library Association’s White Pine Award.

Recipe for Hate follows a group of young punk musicians living in 1970s Maine. Bands like The Hot Nasties, The Social Blemishes, and the Punk Rock Virgins make up the X Gang, led by the socially progressive Christopher X and his best friend Kurt Blank, a talented guitarist living in the closet, who are forced to face off against a growing Neo-Nazi presence in their city when one of their friends is brutally murdered.

Award winners will be announced in May 2019.

Warren Kinsella is an author, musician, lawyer, and political consultant.
