Merna Forster

Merna Forster is a historian who has also been an archivist and park naturalist. A recipient of the Canada 125 Commemorative Medal, she has been discovering historical heroines from coast to coast during her travels. She was awarded the 2016 Governor General’s History Award for Popular Media (Pierre Berton Award) for her work promoting women in history, and a Governor General’s Meritorious Service Decoration in 2017 for her work campaiging to include Viola Desmond on Canada’s ten-dollar bill. She lives in Victoria.
