In the City of Pigs Longlisted for the 2022 Scotiabank Giller Prize

Dundurn Press is thrilled to announce that In the City of Pigs by André Forget has been longlisted for the 2022 Scotiabank Giller Prize Award. This nomination comes as the Toronto-based independent publishing house celebrates its 50th anniversary, and makes Dundurn Press history as the first book on the Rare Machines imprint to be nominated for the Giller prize. Rare Machines is a bold and contemporary imprint of Dundurn Press and seeks to publish works of literary fiction and poetic nonfiction that are playful, unusual, daring, or innovative. Congratulations, André!

Released in Canada in June 2022, In the City of Pigs tells the story of a failed musician obsessed with avant-garde art who enters a shadowy world where bohemian excess meets the avaricious interests of a real estate cabal.

The Scotiabank Giller Prize is Canada's most prestigious and lucrative literary prize for fiction. The award recognizes excellence in Canadian fiction across both long format and short stories. Read more about the prize and its history here
