Two Dundurn Press Titles Nominated for the 2022 Saskatchewan Young Readers' Choice Awards

Dundurn Press is thrilled to announce that  The Life and Deaths of Frankie D. by Colleen Nelson and Sisters of the Wolf by Patricia Miller-Schroeder have been named finalists for the 2022 Saskatchewan Young Readers' Choice Awards in the Snow Willow category. Congratulations Colleen and Patricia!

Colleen Nelson's The Life and Deaths of Frankie D. is an exhilarating urban fantasy about a seventeen-year-old girl, Frankie, who's haunted by circus performers from a hundred years ago. Are the dreams Frankie’s way of working through trauma, or something more sinister at play?

Sisters of the Wolf by Patricia Miller-Schroeder explores two peoples of the Ice Age fighting for survival in a savage world. When Keena and Shinoni are torn from their divided families, they must learn to work together to overcome their differences and get back home.

The Saskatchewan Young Readers' Choice Award (SYRCA), which promotes reading among Saskatchewan children and youth, has three awards. Ten books, written by Canadian authors and published by Canadian publishers, are nominated at each level. The Shining Willow Award is for children from kindergarten to grade three. The Diamond Willow Award is for children in grades four to six and the Snow Willow Award is for youth in grades seven and up. The winners will be announced in May 2023 at the annual Gala. This year, the virtual Gala will be hosted by the Regina Public Library – Regent Branch. Learn more about the awards by visitng their website.
