NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Contests will be posted from @dundurnpress account. Starting date and time for any contest and the details to enter will be announced from this feed. Dundurn may sponsor any one of three different contests:
General Speed Contests:
To enter, respond to Dundurn’s contest offer on Twitter by sending an @reply tweet to @dundurnpress and follow all other details. For example, if a contest on @dundurnpress asks for the correct answer to a question and designates the hashtag #Dundurn to be used, the correct answer would be “@dundurnpress [ANSWER] #Dundurn.” Similarly, if no hashtag is designated, the correct answer would be “@dundurnpress [ANSWER].”
General Random Draw Contests:
To enter, respond to Dundurn’s contest offer on Twitter by sending an @reply tweet to @dundurnpress and follow all other details. For example, if a contest on @dundurnpress asks for the correct answer to a question and designates the hashtag #Dundurn to be used, the correct answer would be “@dundurnpress [ANSWER] #Dundurn.” Similarly, if no hashtag is designated, the correct answer would be “@dundurnpress [ANSWER].”
Retweeting Random Draw Contests:
To enter, respond to Dundurn’s contest offer on Twitter by retweeting the specified Dundurn Twitter feed post before the contest closing date and time, and follow all other details. To retweet a post, click on the retweet option or copy the post into your Twitter feed update bar and preface the posting with RT@dundurnpress. For example, if a contest on @dundurnpress asks for retweeting of a specific posting, simply click on retweet or enter RT@dundurnpress [POSTING]” in your update bar.
CONTEST LIMITS
Only one entry per person. Participants may only use one Twitter account to participate. Each complete and eligible response automatically qualifies as an entry to the contest. Dundurn does not accept entries via phone, fax, courier, mail, or email. Multiple tweets from the same person and/or Twitter account will be void.
ELIGIBILITY
Contests are open to Twitter users over the age of 18 who are legal residents of Canada, excluding Quebec. All federal, provincial, and local regulations apply; void where prohibited.
Employees of Dundurn or any of its affiliates and members of their immediate families, and those with whom they reside, are not eligible to participate. “Immediate family” is defined as mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, and married or common-law spouses, regardless of where they reside. Groups, clubs, organizations, and businesses are not eligible.
Anyone in Dundurn’s sole discretion found to be using multiple Twitter accounts to participate will be ineligible, and his/her entries will be judged void.
WINNER SELECTION (SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION BY DUNDURN):
General Speed Contests:
Winner is selected based on speed and completeness of response. Entries are deemed complete if they are sent to @dundurnpress, and may also include a correct answer to a question and designated hashtag. Speed of response will also be a factor in these specific contests. For example, if Dundurn is giving away five books, then the first five eligible users with a complete response will be deemed the winners. Order and time of responses will be verified using Dundurn’s twitter feed. Odds of winning depend on number of Twitter users actively following Dundurn at or around the time of contest, and the speed and completeness of eligible user’s repsonses.
General Random Draw Contests:
Winner is selected by random draw held following the contest closing date from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Retweeting Random Draw Contests:
Winner is selected by random draw held following the contest closing date from all eligible entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Winners will be announced via the Dundurn Twitter feed by tweeting the selected entrant’s username with a request to direct message Dundurn to provide contact information (full name and mailing address).
PRIZES
For Dundurn-sponsored Twitter contests, the number of prizes to be awarded will range from 1 to 10 and they will have an approximate retail value ranging between $5 and $50 CDN. Prize selection is at the sole discretion of Dundurn, but will constitute items such as books and Dundurn promotional items. Prizes will be announced prior to the start of each contest. Prizes will be shipped via standard post at no cost to the winner(s) at the mailing address provided by the winner(s). Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Dundurn reserves the right to substitute a prize that is, in their sole discretion, a prize of equivalent value.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
By participating in these contests, entrants agree to abide by these official rules. The sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to any computer, other equipment, or person(s) relating to or resulting from participation in the contest or participation on the Twitter network.
Entrants release the sponsor, its agencies, and any affiliates from liability, damage and/or loss resulting from participating in these contests and/or acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the sponsor to publish, post online, or otherwise refer to the name of the winner in any and all forms of media throughout the world, and for any and all publicity or promotional purposes, without obligation or compensation to the winner except where prohibited by law.
Sponsor is not responsible for any lost, late, or misdirected tweets; computer malfunctions, including but not limited to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line failure; or theft, destruction or unauthorized access to Twitter accounts. Tweets that contain errors, are incomplete, corrupted, or illegible will not be accepted. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entires from anyone tampering with the Twitter entry process.
Decisions of Dundurn shall be final and binding in all matters relating to contests and the awarding of a prize. These rules shall prevail, govern, and control over contests offered by Dundurn on Twitter.
These rules are effective as of June 28, 2012.
