The investigation into life after death is not an easy task, there are obstacles and challenges at every turn. It is expensive, often boring and a lot of tedious work. Scheduling visits can be a nightmare, finding a suitable location and securing access can be an enormous job on its own and I wouldn't give it up for anything because the rewards of each discovery easily outweigh everything else.

Most historians look at history as an event that occurred in a location at a specific point in time and is now recorded in a book, document or some dusty archive. To them it is what it is. To the paranormal investigator those people who went on before us and created that history are still around and it is our job to seek them out and actually touch those events. Most have stories to convey, sometimes the hidden stories of their lives and deaths can be traumatic, eye opening and even funny. It can be those intimate details that they share with us that deepen our understanding of the person, their life and the events that happened so long ago. These little discoveries add to our knowledge of that person's life and gives us a clearer insight into who they really were and why certain events in their life took shape as they did. History to the paranormal investigator is tangible, you can feel it, touch it, smell it and taste it, and on rare occasions it can reach out and touch you, as well as push and scratch you too. But that's okay  because even though we are dealing with the dead they still have emotion and every action by them is a form of communication.

I have always been fascinated by ghostly activity, as a small boy growing up in a haunted house I wanted to understand what the whispers and walking in the halls when no one was present were. I read everything  on ghosts and hauntings I could get my hands on, and when I turned 18 I started The Searcher Group, a paranormal research group dedicated to finding these answers. This year will mark 35 years of ghost investigations for me under the Searcher Group, and I am truly amazed that I have only scratched the surface.
