While working as a college librarian at Trent University, Gwyneth Hoyle became inspired by the adventures of those who explored and mapped this great country.
In the northwestern reaches of Alberta, in 1910, a Dominion Land Survey team began work on the first accurate maps of the region, extending a process that had moved slowly west in the preceding decade. It was work that suited only a certain type of man.
