Natasha Henry officially launches her book, Emancipation Day at St. James Cathedral in Toronto, ON. Join Natasha for an evening of arts performances, literary discussion, reading, and a book signing.

About the Book
When the passage of the Abolition of Slavery Act, effective August 1, 1834, ushered in the end of slavery throughout the British Empire, people of African descent celebrated their newfound freedom. Emancipation Day by Natasha Henry provides insight into the creation, development, and evolution of a distinct African-Canadian tradition through historical accounts and appealing images.
