While challenged and changing with Canada itself, the Redemptorists created a distinctive English Canadian Catholic organization set apart from French Canadian and American models.

Author

Paul Laverdure received his M.A. in religious studies from McGill University and his Ph.D. in history from the University of Toronto. He has published a number of articles on the religious history of Canada in encyclopedias, journals and newspapers in Canada, the United States, Australia and Europe.
