Author

Elizabeth Armour was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, in 1918, and was educated at Edgehill, Church School for Girls in Windsor, N.S., and later at Dalhousie Univeresity. She met her future husband in Sydney, N.S., during the war when his Canadian destroyer was alerted for the Bismark in 1941.

She is the mother of five children and the grandmother of four, but she still finds time for crewing on her husband‘s racing yacht, and raising purepred Newfoundlands and Landseers in her own registered kennel. She also enjoys photography -- some of her pictures appear in this book.

Since moving to Oakville, Ontario, in 1946, she has been extensively involved in lay activities of the Anglican Church. Both she and her husband are Associates of the Community of the Sisters of the Church.
