Murder Out There
Ex-boxer Joe Grundy is embroiled in the intrigues of his own boss, millionaire Leo Alexander, the owner of Vancouver's Lord Douglas Hotel. Somebody has murdered Leo's live-in servant and not-so-secret lover, and Grundy has to get to the bottom of the incident in order to clear the man he's forged a bond with since first coming to work for him as security for the hotel. But Leo's past serves up more surprises than Grundy bargained for

It seems Leo has had a life full of death, jilted mistresses, spurned spouses, sharp business deals, and explosive relationships with estranged children. Another corpse pops up, Leo is arrested and jailed, and Grundy takes more hits to his body and psyche than perhaps even he can handle.

Thoughts of real and imagined death are stalking the corridors of the Lord Douglas, and Joe Grundy has to keep swinging to stay alive and remain sane.

Body Blows by Marc Strange has won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Paperback Original presented by the Mystery Writers of America. The award ceremony took place last night, Thursday, April 29th at the 64th annual Mystery Writers of America Gala Banquet held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. The last Canadian to win in this category was also a Dundurn author. Sylvia Maultash Warsh won in 2004 for Find Me Again.

Dundurn author Marc Strange has been nominated for an Edgar Allan Poe Award in the category of Best Paperback Original for his novel, Body Blows.

The Edgar Allan Poe Awards (popularly called the Edgars), named after Edgar Allan Poe, are presented every year by the Mystery Writers of America. They honor the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction, television, film, and theatre published or produced in the previous year.

Another Award Nomination for Marc Strange!

Body Blows by Marc Strange has been nominated for another award south of the border.

The Shamus Awards, which are presented by the Private Eye Writers of America, recognize the best in private eye writing, with an investigator (not a police or government agent) as the main character. Body Blows has been nominated in the Best Paperback Original PI Novel category. The winners will be announced this coming October.

Body Blows recently won the 2010 Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Paperback Original from the Mystery Writers of America this past April.
